This Month's Spotlight:
Meet Elissa of Ethereal Edits: Creating Homes That Learn to Breathe
What's your claim to fame?:
I’m the founder of Ethereal Edits, a home organizing and move concierge studio rooted in calm, intention, and ease. I help clients edit and organize their homes—especially during times of transition—so spaces feel lighter, more functional, and aligned with how people actually live.
Tell us the story behind what you do—how did your journey begin, and what motivates you today?:
My journey began in fashion, designing pieces meant to be lived in, not just looked at. That focus on comfort, proportion, and function now shapes how I organize homes—creating spaces that feel intuitive, supportive, and easy to live in.
Over time, I realized those same principles were needed most at home, especially during moments of change. Today, I work alongside a trusted team to support families through moves and life transitions, helping them create systems that reduce overwhelm and bring calm to everyday life.
How have your surroundings or lifestyle shaped your creative process, mindset, or brand ethos?:
Living in Southern California has deeply influenced my work—light, openness, and ease are always at the forefront. I’m inspired by homes that feel breathable and intentional rather than overly styled. My lifestyle values—movement, time outdoors, learning, and connection—mirror how I approach organizing: thoughtful, grounded, and designed to evolve with real life.
What’s something about your work or approach that might surprise people?:
Organizing isn’t about perfection or minimalism—it’s about observation. I spend time listening before touching anything. The most effective systems come from understanding routines, habits, and friction points. Many clients are surprised by the emotional relief that follows once their home truly supports them instead of demanding from them.
What's currently inspiring you—whether it's a person, a place, a project, or something totally unexpected?:
I’m inspired by quieter rhythms—homes that feel lived-in yet intentional, especially for families balancing full lives. I’m continually inspired by clients choosing ease over excess and creating systems that support real routines, from weekday mornings to shared meals.
Outside of work, inspiration comes from simple, grounding moments—cooking nourishing meals, caring for the plants in my home, going on hikes, and having meaningful conversations with friends. Those moments of clarity always find their way back into my work.
What are your favorite rituals, spaces, or hidden spots that bring you joy or spark ideas?
Movement is a ritual I protect—weekend walks along the coast and Pilates on weekday mornings help ground me and create mental clarity. I also read consistently, often two books a month, rotating between personal growth, business, and thrillers.
I’m drawn to light-filled kitchens, well-edited closets, and spaces that invite pause rather than perfection. Simple resets—tidying a surface at day’s end or restoring order where there was friction—are often where my best ideas begin.
